Volleyball is 10% physical and 90% mental which is
true!
Knowing the proper way to bump, set, spike.
Knowing that it is in that order and should be executed in that way.
Knowing the proper way to dig.
Knowing where your opponent is tipping or spiking the ball.
Knowing which hitter the setter is goin to set.
Knowing which position the server is aiming for.
Knowing where the hell you are and suppose to be.
Knowing your mistakes and correcting them.
Knowing where all your teammates are 100% of the time.
Knowing your teammates and opponents strengths and weaknesses and building on them.
Knowing that you can teach your child(ren), nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, cousins,
friends, students the game that is volleyball.
Volleyball is not only about the mental and physical aspects, it is about making memories
and friends for a life time. If you ask a volleyball player who travels to games or tournaments he/she could tell you
a million stories about on and off the courts. These stories will stay with them forever, even
though for some volleyball may be over they will have these stories to tell their children and grandchildren of the times
"i packed someone" or "someone packed me." OR the infamous what
happens here stays here events. These memories last
a lifetime, and sometimes thats just something that we need to hold on to, to remind us of our life and friends. Be
prepared to make your own memories and friends. Remember that the volleyball world is a small world.
A volleyball career never reaches a plateau, you never stop learning. A game is
never like the last, it could be better or it could be worse, its just what you do with it.
Volleyball is a hard game to play and if someone says its not, then challenge them to
a game. I know for a fact they will be proven differently.
